Fine Cut Moments At The Grill, Abu Dhabi

In Khalifa City, The Grill makes a convincing case for building an evening around a good steak. Set within Marriott Hotel Al Forsan, Abu Dhabi, the contemporary steakhouse combines an open kitchen with a menu that gives diners plenty to consider before choosing their cut.

That choice is central to its appeal. Sanchoku grain-fed Wagyu ribeye and tenderloin sit alongside Black Angus sirloin, Picanha and a T-bone. For a centerpiece, The Grand Tour presents a 1.2-kilogram Black Angus tomahawk with the chef’s signature spice rub, two sides and a sauce. The Sizzling Au Poivre takes another direction, pairing USDA Prime tenderloin with a peppery sauce on a hot plate.

There is reason to arrive hungry for the opening courses. Locally farmed Dibba Bay oysters come with mignonette and yuzu pearls, while Wagyu beef tartare brings together pickled shimeji, egg yolk and homemade crisps. Roasted bone marrow with sourdough, onion jam and chimichurri offers a richer start.

Beyond beef, the menu moves through miso black cod, Mediterranean-spiced king prawns and lobster, giving mixed tables room to follow different appetites. Accompaniments deserve attention too: triple-cooked chips, truffle macaroni and cheese, and Paris mash sit among the choices, with sauces ranging from béarnaise to stone-pounded chimichurri.

The open kitchen puts the preparation in view, while the wine list spans Old and New World producers. Cocktails and alcohol-free options broaden the drinks selection, and the team can guide guests towards a pairing.

Dessert might mean Crème Brulé or sticky date pudding with baklava gelato and toffee sauce. It is a fitting finish to a menu that balances familiar steakhouse pleasures with details worth discovering.

Open daily from 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm, The Grill welcomes dinners for two, gatherings with friends and evenings with colleagues. Reservations are available online or by calling +971 2 201 4131.
