Coming all the way from London, Chef Thuy Pham, co-founder of The Little Viet Kitchen, visits Abu Dhabi for a three-day pop-up event from 26th to 28th September 2019.
Hosted at Vietnamese restaurant Hoi An at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, the event features an exclusive menu with Thuy’s Vietnamese signature dishes. The exclusive pop-up menu price starts from AED 448 for food only, and AED 598 with a beverage package.
Born in a small village in the south of Vietnam, Chef Thuy grew up surrounded by food, amidst livestock and fresh produce, with a wonderful variety of fruits, morning markets with freshly picked vegetables and the smells of traditional street food. Chef Thuy and her family moved to London when she was eight. There, she took her passion for Vietnamese food and ran a successful home business and eventually opened The Little Viet Kitchen.
Chef Thuy is known for her distinctive approach to Vietnamese cooking in the West, with an authentic core knowledge of Vietnamese culture and a deft understanding of the London restaurant and foodie scene. Her mother plays a huge role in Chef Thuy’s inspiration; she will also be cooking with her daughter in the kitchen for the three-night event.
‘I am very excited to be in Abu Dhabi and to showcase my creations of Vietnamese flavours for the first time in the capital. I always want the guests to see what makes Vietnamese cuisine so special through what I have to offer, and this is what I want to do at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri’, said Chef Thuy.
The Little Viet Kitchen has been a staple of the Islington foodie scene for over four years, receiving plaudits from customers, celebrities and chefs alike. Chef Thuy was also invited to the Houses of Parliament in late 2018 to receive a Carbon Free Dining award for the restaurant’s work with the Green Earth Appeal.
