Hailing from Argentina, Chef Silva Herrera has been hand-picked to helm the kitchens at the boutique hotel. With over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry he has held positions in Argentina, Chile and Panama. Prior to this appointment, he was the F&B Director and Executive Chef at the Gran Meliã Iguazu in Argentina. During his tenure there, his team catered for the re-opening ceremony of the property, in the presence of the President of Argentina, Mr. Maricio Macri.
In his current role, Chef Herrera will spearhead the hotel’s culinary team across four restaurants, along with in-room dining and banqueting. He is also responsible for the consistent quality and presentation of the food prepared in the F&B outlets and will ensure that the menus remain creative.
Chef Silva Herrera studied Gastronomy (English and French) for three years at the Lycee Gastronomic Institute. He started his career at Au Bec Fin, a French restaurant, in the position of Cook Assistant. Since then, he has had successful tenures with hotel brands such as Park Hyatt Buenos Aires (Argentina), Courtyard by Marriott (Santiago, Chile), Renaissance Santiago Hotel, Sheraton Miramar Hotel (Chile) and Explora Luxury Hotels among others.
