Mercato by Sacci

Sacci, popular amongst residents for its award-winning Italian cuisine has now added another string to its bow. Located at The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and Spa, every Wednesday, Sacci will welcome guests to experience Mercato by Sacci.

We headed over to Sacci to check out their new seafood night. As we arrive the evening is already in full swing. The live singer is serenading guests as they enjoy fine fare outside on the patio. The temperature is perfect this evening, so we take a seat outside near the grill.

Inside Sacci guests will find a selection of cheeses, breads, an antipasti station and desserts. Outside on the patio guests can enjoy the live cooking stations, boasting a wide variety of fresh pasta and delectable seafood. Seafood ranges from Lobster, Scallops, Salmon, Tuna, Crab Legs to Octopus.

We begin by selecting dishes from the antipasti station, Seafood Salad, Caprese, Avocado and Tuna Tartar alongside a few bread rolls. The Avocado and Tuna Tartar is by far our favorite dish from the antipasti station, light and flavorful we return for a second helping.

Next, we enjoy the fresh pasta, we select the Eggplant Pasta with a Tomato Sauce. The pasta tastes sensational and the freshness is evident. From the seafood offerings we decide to try the Lobster Tail, grilled to perfection, it gets a big thumbs up from the team. This is enjoyed with a small helping of Roasted Potatoes and Creamy Spinach.

We head back inside the restaurant to sample a few of the cheeses on offer. The cheese station offers a wide variety of cheeses from Losa Vacca, Scoparolo to Gorgonzola to name a few. We enjoy these with complimenting crackers. Wanting to conclude the evening on a sweet note we try the small pastries, our advice, be sure to taste the Lemon Meringue, it will not disappoint.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Sacci. Sometimes themed evenings can be a bit hit or miss but Mercato by Sacci is definitely a hit. Authentic Italian food, a relaxing ambience, live entertainment and an interactive dining experience all await guests every Wednesday night. Be sure to sit outside on the patio so you can take in the smell from the grill, the sounds of the live entertainment and the cool breeze.

Sacci is an authentic family style Italian Trattoria that pays tribute to the rich heritage of Italian cuisine. Located at The Westin Abu Dhabi, it is a place that combines the flavors of childhood and the aromas of a summer at the family terrazza with both indoor and outdoor seating. Sacci is open daily from 6.00pm to 11.00pm.

Packages start at AED 265 inclusive of buffet and soft beverages for adults with kids below 12 years old paying AED 140. Mercato by Sacci will take place every Wednesday from 7.00pm till 11.00pm.
