Over the last two decades Chef Carlos Gaytan has been working his way up through the ranks of Chicago’s competitive dining scene.
His restaurant Mexique presents the bold flavours of his native Mexico prepared with the finesse characteristic of his French training. His food was considered spectacular enough to earn Mexique a Michelin star in 2013, making it only the third Mexican restaurant in America with the honour.
That same year, Chef Gaytan was asked to join the cast of the famous TV program Top Chef and he made it to the semi-finals. He then went on to participate in Master Chef South Africa in 2015.
Chef Carlos Gaytan will be offering foodies in the Capital the opportunity to delve into Mexican cuisine with a 5 or 7 course menu, from 16th to 21st September at Sayad, located in Emirates Palace.
The chef’s visit coincides with the Mexican National Day on 19th September.
