Marea Dubai unveils a special chef collaboration to savour the talents of two unique and highly accomplished chefs. A marriage of skills and flavours between two culinary masterminds – Marea’s Chef Michael White brings the heart of New York and years of training in Italy in what has become a multi-Michelin starred career to Dubai and 3 Fils’ Chef Akmal Anuar from Singapore, helmed one of the World’s Best 50 Restaurants and created what has now grown to become one of the city’s favourite Asian sensations.
Chef Michael White is one of the most celebrated Italian chefs of his generation, known for his sophisticated and inventive riffs on Italian and French cuisine and his sublime pastas. He has cooked for several U.S. Presidents, as well as the likes of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Madonna and JLO, to name just a few.
Singaporean Chef Akmal Anuar’s passion for food took him around the world working with great chefs, including Dan Hunter, Andoni Luis Adruiz, and Yashiro Sasajima, and then rising to head chef of one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in Singapore. Recently in his culinary journey Chef Akmal created the successful concept, 3 Fils, in Dubai.
Marea x 3Fils will take place exclusively on Tuesday, 10th March 2020 showcasing gastronomic creations through a six-course-set menu, titled Poseidon Adventure, giving a nod to the exquisite seafood preparations that bring together the best of both cuisines. The menu will feature a combination of chilled and warm seafood starters from each chef, two never-tasted-before pasta courses that have been created exclusively for the night, and a joint main course, with chocolate creations rounding-up the evening. And as you can see from the image (example only, we don’t want to spoil the surprise on the day) the level of creativity you can expect will be sublime.
The tongue and cheek menu takes off with two beautifully crafted appetizers – from the West ‘Pretty In Pink’, delightful fresh Langoustines Scampi with Leeks, Hazelnuts, Blasamico, and Black Truffle, while from the East the ‘Very Very Wild Bass’ is a Kelp-Cured Sea Bass enhanced with the rich and intense flavours of Japanese Wasabi. For the pasta courses, the West’s ‘Aphrodite’s Weakness’ is delicious hand-rolled Garganelli accompanied with a Blue Fin Tuna Bolognese, accentuated with traditional Sicilian Spices and the ‘Naughty Cod’ Linguine from the East is brought to life with the simple flavours of Cod Milt and New Season Onion.
For the final savoury course, Chef White presents a succulent Monte e Mare seared Wagyu Ribeye, paired with Morel Mushrooms and a rich Red Prawn Mousse. Desserts seal the evening with the Marea Chocolate Globe Emulsion and Chef Anuar’s selection of Handmade Chocolates from the Brix Desserts Bar by 3Fils.
Marea’s limited-edition East Meets West menu is priced at AED 475 per person and will be available exclusively for the evening of Tuesday, 10th March 2020. Prior reservations are mandatory.
