Hidden behind all the hustle of Jumeirah Beach Road is a stunning resort- Nikki Beach. More than just a beach club Nikki Beach boasts 5 restaurants offering a delicious variety of cuisines, making it a great dining destination in its own right.
We recently tried the little spoken about Key West, a beautiful gem at Nikki Beach offering Caribbean, Latinoand Floridian dishes. And we were in for a treat!
The restaurant decor is minimalistic yet stunning, with great interiors and subtle colors. The outdoor terrace is beautiful, in the winter it offers sundowners with live music during themed events. We started our dining journey with a Caribbean style celebration platter, priced at AED 250 it includes spiced plantain fries, barbecue beef in bonnet chilies, jerk-style chicken wings, sweet potato fries and a delicious tuna ceviche. The ceviche and jerk chicken wings were our favorites! The platter is enormous and easily shareable between 3-4 people.
As the evening progressed towards the mains, the chef presented dishes to share from all 3 categories, Caribbean, Latino and Floridian. We tried the BBQ spare ribs which were tender and fell off the bone, the jerk chicken drumsticks had the perfect amount of spice and a pan seared Paiche fish in green pepper sauce was an absolute delight. We ended on a delicious note with their ‘Nature Intended’ beverage and raisin ice cream with pineapple, and some of the best churros we have had in Dubai served with a side of chocolate and dulce de leche. The churros make the visit worth it alone!
If you are as intrigued by Latin American cuisine as we are, Key West is definitely a must-try. Great food, cozy ambience, a gorgeous terrace and one of the best sunset points in the city.
