Catch, Dubai

Chef Bobby spent 16 years in New York City, before bringing a piece of NYC to Dubai with Catch. Inspired by his many travels around the world, the menu at Catch is predominantly seafood, but with a hint of fusion from the cities Chef Bobby has been to. And it achieves phenomenal results!

Catch is a trendy restaurant located in the Fairmont Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. With a great lounge area, dim lighting, and plush leather sofas, it incorporates influences from a myriad of regions where seafood is central to the culinary culture. Enough to satiate any seafood craving, the menu is extensive and well thought out. Surprisingly, Catch even offers a great array of delicious meat cuts for those of you who do not enjoy seafood.

We begin our journey with the Wagyu On The Rock, slices of tender Wagyu are placed along a hot stone and cooked on the table. Simply flavored with garlic oil, this is absolutely delicious. We order half a dozen oysters to share and are pleasantly surprised with the addition of kimchi sauce, which we loved. Chef Bobby then serves up squid ink dumplings with lobster meat and spicy sauce, inspired by his travels to Nepal. An interesting fusion of seafood with an Asian twist!

The mains include a delicious King Crab Pasta, squid ink pasta tossed in a light creamy sauce with crab, this is a must try! You may not think to try the pasta at a seafood restaurant, but we’d definitely suggest adding this dish to your order. Next up is the herb roasted Branzino fish with creamy basmati rice, a delectable mix of subtle flavors which resulted in a delightful dish. We are also fortunate enough to try the Chef’s special of the day – Duck Pho! Authentic Vietnamese flavors with duck meat instead of the regular beef, this dish is comfort food at its best!

We ended the meal on a high note with Catch’s famous Hit Me! dessert, layers of cake, brownie and ice cream with chocolate sauce generously poured all over.  Their October special is dedicated to Breast Cancer awareness and the dessert is Pink themed, topped with a Pink ribbon. We also tried the soon-to-be-launched blueberry doughnut, an interesting creation and absolutely delicious.

Let your pockets loose for this one as Catch is surely worth the indulgence!
