Until Sunday 16th April guests dining at Blue Grill, Yas Island Rotana can enjoy a contemporary English grill menu. Travelling all the way from The Belfry Hotel & Resort, British Executive Chef Robert Bates and Executive Pastry Chef Dean Cole will tantalize your taste buds with their flare of British cuisine.
The menu offers a selection of delicious English specialities from Braised Oxtail, Cured Scottish Salmon, Pan Roasted Venison Loin, Beef Wellington, Seared Cod and Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding.
We could hardly contain our excitement and attended the first night to taste this limited time menu.
Blue Grill is a spectacular steakhouse located on Yas Island. It perfectly balances great tasting dishes with wonderful service and the prices are very reasonable considering the size and quality of the cuisine.
For starters we select the Pan Fried West Coast Scallops and French ‘Prat Ar Coum’ oysters. The French oysters are delicious, served on a mountain of crushed ice the presentation is beautiful. Medium sized and meaty, we waste no time enjoying the oysters. The Pan Fried West Coast Scallops are equally as enjoyable, served with cauliflower 3 ways, golden raisins and black pepper the combination of the sweet raisins and gritty pepper works well alongside the rich plump scallops.
For our mains we cannot resist the Beef Wellington, a speciality recommended by the chef. We cannot deny we are thrilled to have a British chef cooking a traditional Beef Wellington. Served to share the portion is extremely generous and is more than enough for both of us. As we cut into the crisp flaky pastry a glorious succulent beef joint is reviled. The meat is tender and melts in our mouth
By this point we are completely full but the food is so good we order the Lemon Meringue Pie. A good move, complimented by raspberry sour cream and lemon thyme clotted cream this dessert is as visually stimulating as it is tasty.
The menu is fabulous however it is only available until 16th April, our advice book your table quickly.
