Abu Dhabi Food Festival 2017

This December Abu Dhabi Food Festival will return to the Capital for its 3rd Edition. Dining and Nightlife Abu Dhabi are working in partnership with The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi for a second consecutive year to bring you a host of foodie fun along with Festember, Truckers and Zomato.
Marking the festival’s third edition, the event will feature the return of some all-time favorites as well as an array of international chefs and some new gastronomic experiences.

Dining and Nightlife Abu Dhabi are proud to present the following happenings;

Two Michelin Star Chef, Enrico Bartolini and Friends 
The city’s favorite Italian restaurant, Roberto’s Abu Dhabi will be bringing not one but two 2 Michelin Star Chefs to Abu Dhabi. Guests will be taken on an unparalleled culinary experience as they dine on a 6-course menu. 2 Michelin Star Chef Enrico Bartolini and 2 Michelin Star Chef Alfio Ghezzi will each be creating 3 dishes.

2kg Burger Challenge 

Head to Hickory’s located at Yas Links Abu Dhabi and take the 2kg Burger Challenge! The 2kg burger is served with steak fries and 2 large soft beverages. If guests complete the challenge in 30 minutes or less the meal is on the house, fail and guests pay AED 149 per person.

UAE’s Longest Pizza 
Famous in Abu Dhabi for creating their 1-meter long pizzas, Itzza Pizza now plans to create an even longer pizza, in fact the longest pizza ever in the UAE! Head over to Itzza Pizza and snap a pic with the UAEs longest pizza. At the end join in the fun as Itzza Pizza welcomes visitors to take part in a pizza eating competition!

Market to Kitchen 
Gather at 10.00am at Market Kitchen, Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi for welcome coffees and pastries and be ready to depart the hotel at 10.30am.
Take a chauffeured spin around Abu Dhabi’s local farmer markets and learn how to select the freshest produce with Market Kitchen’s expert chefs! The 4-hour food adventure includes visits to the fish souq as well as fruit and vegetable market to select your lunch ingredients.
You will then head back to Market Kitchen for a front-row seat as the culinary team prepare the food before your eyes, sharing first-rate cookery tips along the way.
You’ll pay for the produce you select at the markets and tip the chefs what you think the experience is worth!

Ripe Night Market 
In collaboration with Ripe Market, a special edition for Abu Dhabi Food Festival is created to focus on bringing the community together in a fun and social way. The Ripe Market is a community event supporting local businesses, giving them a platform to sell to the residents and tourists visiting. Get the chance to experience the Ripe Organic stand selling at the market, local organic fruit and vegetables from the Ripe Organic Farm as well as other local organic farmers. Other organic items including juices, superfoods and other shopping items, as well as lots of live cooking food stalls, arts, crafts, fashion, jewellery, fitness workshops, live entertainment, yoga, children’s activities and much more will be available for all to enjoy.

Al Fanar – Traditional Heritage Souq 

The festivities continue as Al Fanar Heritage Souq promises the perfect family experience. With a dedicated play area for kids, Al Fanar Heritage Festival in Al Ain serves as the favorite Emirati weekend experience. The traditional Emirati Souq is themed to provide a nostalgic experience and showcase the iconic culture of the Emirates. The aim of this external marketplace is to merchandise items and products from the heritage that were typically utilized during the early years for day to day living. By exhibiting these reminiscent articles, Al Fanar lets the people recreate the scene of the original Emirates in the luxury of their own home. Facing the tent, through a projector screening, the nation’s antiquity and history isdisplayed on show reel, allowing the visitors to feel the true sense of Heritage. As Al Fanar over the years has provided an authentic Emirati experience through its food, it now brings an array of merchandize, such as: Al Senyar, Al Tawash, Aseel, Bukhoor, Dalla, Fenjan, Gafa, Harda, Al Fanar,Makhbar, Makhama, Marash, Mehaffa, Mesheb, Shanta and various other articles.

Café 302 has created a special version of their popular freakshakes especially for Abu Dhabi Food Festival. Priced at only AED 49 the chocolate inspired freakshake is sure to tempt those with a sweet tooth.

Gourmet Golf 
Gourmet Golf combines the spectacular game with food tasting as players team up and get the chance to compete in a nine-hole round of golf around the Abu Dhabi Golf Club course while enjoying a sumptuous serving of tasty treats from four food and beverage stations situated around the course.

The festival will see the return of popular events and activations as well as newly-introduced food platforms that appeal to every taste and palate.

Truckers’ Season
Three food truck events will be taking place across Abu Dhabi Food Festival this year. From Truckers Carnival 7th to 23rd December, Truckers Exit 1st to 23rd December, to Truckers Park 15th to 16th December 2.00pm to 11.00pm Madinat Zayed Public Park entrance AED 10.
All are ready to tantalize taste buds with a variety of exciting food concepts and an array of fun-filled activities. As the popularity of food trucks soars, visitors will be presented with a wide selection of cuisines in a casual, relaxing setting with live performances and shows on display.

New Food Concepts
Abu Dhabi Food Festival 2017 is all about pushing boundaries and discovering new food concepts.  This year’s edition will feature five new food concepts including Beach Feast at Yas Beach 8th to 9th December 12.00pm to 12.00an entrance AED 30, Big Piknik 22nd to 23rd December 12.00pm to 10.00pm Umm Al Emarat Park, Delicious Cinema 22nd to 23rd December 6.00pm to 11.00pm Manarat Al Saadiyat, Saadiyat Island entrance AED 190, Top Secret Long Table 8th December and Street Food Market 14th to 15th December 5.00pm to 3.00am MAD Club parking Yas Island entrance AED 50, all of which are strong, concept-driven initiatives ready to enthral festival-goers.

This year, Zomato is conducting a series of events including Zomato Restaurant Skillet 17th December, Zomato Foodie Skillet 17th December, Zomato Abu Dhabi Restaurant Week 7th to 21st December, Zomato Influencer Tables, Zomato Treats and Gold Discounts 7th to 23rd December, Zomato Dine-In Treats Special 7th to 23rd December, Zomato competitions 7th to 23rd December and Zomato Special Package Delivery.
